Watermelon Girl

Description
Toronto, 2006. Exotic model Melina, of Asian and Spanish descent, approached me with a simple request: to be photographed in a theme of my choice. I imagined something vibrant, playful, and sensual—an ode to abundance and color—so the concept of fruit became our language. In the soft light of my Toronto loft, bowls of ripe fruit became props, symbols, and textures, surrounding her with a sense of both decadence and simplicity. Melina’s presence, at once striking and delicate, elevated the theme beyond its surface, turning each frame into a dialogue between beauty, culture, and imagination. Among the many images created that day, this capture remains a personal favorite—a timeless fragment of creativity and collaboration.
