There’s a particular stillness in abandoned houses—the kind that makes you wonder about the lives that once moved through those rooms. We found it in the north of Toronto, a forgotten space that time hadn’t quite erased. Dust on the windows, faded wallpaper peeling like old skin. Zuzia stood there—unwavering, serene—against a backdrop of decay. The black-and-white film captured her every subtle movement, every curve of her expression. She became part of the space, as if she too had been waiting for years to be rediscovered. Stylist Angelique Caplette’s vision paired with Natalia Zurwaska’s delicate makeup created a contrast of softness and strength. Zuzia’s porcelain skin against the raw, exposed wood of the house, her eyes flickering like memories of something once alive. There’s something almost sacred in photographing moments like these—where the past, present, and future collide in an image.
